By Dr Tom Hitchcock, founder of Mr Purple (LinkedIn)
Some news I’m quietly chuffed about (and now loudly sharing): Education Eureka has run a feature on me in its October 2026 edition, under the rather generous headline Australia’s Most Influential TEDx Voice Shaping the Future in 2026.
It’s about Mistakeology and the work behind it: the idea that a mistake isn’t something to hide, but often the best teacher we’ll ever get.
There are two ways to read it:
If it helps one more person see a mistake as a lesson rather than a life sentence, I’ll call that a win. And if you’d like to bring Mistakeology into your school or workplace, come and say hello.
Common questions
What is Mistakeology?
Mistakeology is the study of mistakes: how we make them, recover from them and learn from them. It is the idea behind Tom Hitchcock's book, talks and coaching.
Where can I read the Education Eureka feature?
